Piers Crichton
Piers Crichton

I got into flying at an early age, air cadets and a general interest in flying away from the grey skies of London, where I was born and bred, inspired me to achieve my frozen Airlne Transport Pilots License.
In order to do so I had to endure two long, hot Summers in the South of Spain finally completing training towards the end of 2011.
Now back in London I am working for the exciting and fast growing company that is iPilot.
I enjoy a good cheese! :)

James Goody:

At iPilot since: December 2012

Favourite aircraft: Piper Warrior PA28

Favourite airports: EGYP – Mount Pleasant & VHHX – Kai Tak

Professional experience (Graduations/degree): I have a MEng in Architectural Engineering, a
Foundation Degree in Air Transport Management as well as a Frozen ATPL. Having completed my
training at Oxford Aviation Academy I am now enjoying working with the iPilot Team in London.

What do you like about being a pilot/flight instructor: Flying is one of the greatest and most
rewarding feelings in the world, working at iPilot allows me to pass on this excitement to our
customers. The B737-800 is a great aircraft to fly, I hope to fly with you at iPilot Westfield soon.

Jonathan Greig:

I’m Jonathan Greig, 40 years young and I work at iPilot two days a week. I combine working here with managing a small property business with my wife back home in Kent.

From an early age I have always had an interest in flying, travel and machines! What better job could combine all these interests. So after University and a career in London spanning 20 years or so, I finally had the funds to pursue my passion and obtained my CPL IR and ‘frozen’ ATPL from Cabair in 2010.

I actually first came to iPilot as a customer after my wife bought me the experience as a present. I loved it so much I sent in my CV and now I work 2 days a week! I get to fly an aircraft and I get paid for it!

The best airport I’ve flown into: Valencia – beautiful city, always warm and by the sea.

Tony Maybank:

At iPilot since: June 2011
Favourite aircraft: Boeing 747-400 and Airbus A380-800
Favourite airport: Madeira Funchal
Professional experience (Graduations/degree): 1st Class Honours for a Masters Degree in Aviation Engineering with Pilot Studies (Brunel University).
What do you like about being a pilot/flight instructor: As a flying instructor, I get a huge amount of satisfaction out of leading a customer with no previous flying experience, step-by-step through the workings of the 737 cockpit. Successfully guiding both children and adults alike through an approach using ILS and the Localizer / Glideslope, or allowing them hands on control of the 737NG through a real life SID / STAR route, each iPilot session brings its own unique merits as no day is ever the same.

Stephanie Stoddart:

At iPilot since: September 2012
Favourite aircraft: Boeing 747-400 and the new Boeing 787
Favourite airport: St Maartens and the old Hong Kong airport, Kai Tak.
Professional experience (Graduations/degree): I have a combined degree in Business Studies and Film Studies as well as a Foundation Degree in Air Transport Management. I completed my training at the Oxford Aviation Academy and am now enjoying working with iPilot in London and doing work experience in the flight operations department for a private charter service called Blink.
What do you like about being a pilot/flight instructor: Flying is one of the greatest and most rewarding feelings in the world. I have thoroughly enjoyed working at iPilot, giving our customers the instruction to fly the 737, as I really like to meet new people and help create a fun atmosphere for the jet experience.

Mark Stalham:

At iPilot since: March 2012
Favourite aircraft: Boeing 777, Concorde , Lancaster Bomber
Favourite airport: Princess Juliana St Maarten
Professional experience (Graduations/degree): BSc Hons in Aviation Studies at Kingston University
What do you like about being a pilot/flight instructor: I got my passion for flying at an early age, with my mother working for an airline I frequently travelled. At the age of 7, I was invited to the cockpit of a Boeing 767 and from then on I knew I was going to be a commercial pilot. After training in the United Stated and Bournemouth I obtained my Frozen ATPL in 2011. Working for iPilot allows me to spread my enthusiasm of flying with others, as well as inspiring the next generation of pilots.
